Where this history comes from
- 3 Nov 2015 to Jul 2017: 52 versions from occasional captures, kept in the archive of seligman/aws-ip-ranges. They are days to months apart, so a change in this period is shown as happening between two dates.
- Jul 2017 to today: 5,814 versions recorded by joetek/aws-ip-ranges-json, which has tracked the file in git since July 2017, plus 143 that only seligman/aws-ip-ranges caught (an SNS-triggered tracker running since 2020) and 1 from the Internet Archive. Known gap in the record: 4 Sept 2019 to 28 Oct 2019.
- From now on: this site checks ip-ranges.json every 30 minutes and records each new version itself.
AWS doesn't publish old versions of the file (its documentation suggests saving successive versions yourself), so this history exists thanks to joetek and seligman, who have kept public records for years. Thank you both.
The complete history is one file you can download: timeline.json, listing every entry with the versions during which it was published. Rebuilt files list the same entries AWS published; the order of entries may differ from the original file.
